Schnitz

Pork schnitzel, pea gnocchi, and green beans w/ tomato. Comfort food for those from a land whose frugal ways ensure that European vacations will remain expensive for New Worlders. That goes for the schnitz part at least.

New Creation pork, pounded thin and seasoned, and then dipped in flour, then egg, then panko (cool circa 2002). Pan fried and good to go.

Ohio City Pasta pea gnocchi. From the freezer and into boiling water for about 2 min before being quickly coated with a bit of butter. Surprisingly delicate and tasty. Much easier than making spatzle.

And North Union Farmers Market green beans and sun gold tomatoes. Trimmed and blanched beans got warmed up with the tomatoes in some butter with just a little minced garlic. Super simple.

All in all a pretty hardy meal that still celebrates the summer. And just about everything but the lemon can found at the Market.
