Romanian made Polish food. Pierogies and red onions sauteed together in butter. The cheddar cheese/potato pierogies were from a Romanian-run stand at the Shaker Farmers Market, the onions from Blissful Acres, also at the Market. With a Polish grandmother married to my Romanian grandfather, it's not shocking that these have become my go-to snack.
Pasta with cherry tomatoes is one of summer's finest treats. Did you grow your own sungolds? if not, where did you buy yours?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more.
ReplyDeleteRe: the sungolds--I grew them. Besides the occasional carrot and melon, my 10' X 15' community garden plot (plus an extra half plot) takes care of most my veggie needs. It's almost sad, because I like the farmers markets so much. These days they've become more of a meat market for me (an actual meat market, of course).
And I love the peach pie!
And if you'd like a bunch of the little sungolds let me know in a comment and we'll sort out the details. It'd be a pick your own on the near west side.
ReplyDeleteCFT, I never took you for that kind of guy. Should I warn the people at the market that you think it is only for meat? j/k. it looks good.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid the folks at the Market already know my shameful secret.
