Thoughts?

I know it's been a while. Moving on . . . .

Love the guy, fired up about this project. I'm new to the Shoreway at just over a year in. Most folks here raised kids on my street that are at least my age now. So I don't feel like I have the right to complain. This may well be good for the neighborhood. But please, someone, give me a place near 65th & Detroit where I can eat better than decent, affordable food, a few (read: 2) times a week. Hotdogs and fries aren't that. It may be great for visitors.

Happy Dog filled a niche for residents that I think will be sorely missed. If I'm missing something here please feel free to try to change my mind. For now, it's going to be a place I'll definitely check out, but I get my fix of dogs downtown.

Also, why change the name, isn't it perfect? It certainly celebrates the history of the neighborhood.

I agree with you... who bought it?

Owner of Momocho. You're another newbie too though. Curious to get the oldtimers take. I don't think gentrification is a dirty word, but I think the Dog is a huge loss and perfect for what the area was and is becoming. I fear we'll be W. Lee Road.

Mr. Tomato, What do you think of the Parkview? I know that the food is really just bar food but it's not bad for what you pay. About the Happy Dog, it obviously was for sale or the new partnership could not be buying it. I actually have never been there but it looks like a nice old bar. I suspect that Eric will not change it much, and maybe once he's in he will realize that they need a little more food choices other than hot dogs. And thanks for the eggs.

Steve: I like the Parkview. Great walleye sandwiches. Happy Dog had been great for a while. We'll see what happens. And no problem.

MM: Things are going well, but continuously going. Congrats on the blt.

I hope they don't change it much...it's great just the way it is. No pierogi or tater tots? That'll be sad!
