I'd maintain though, that Barcelona isn't the place to learn about the history, etiquette, or general culture of tapas. I'd suspect that the tapas scene in barca is largely geared to serve (or at least a result of serving and capturing the $ of), shudder, tourists, whether from within Spain or from outside.

Based on my very limited experience, the tapas places in barca, particularly the highly touted ones, were packed with fellow tourists. The restaurants appeared to be a completely different story. It was just about the exact opposite in Basque Country. The CFThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05483045584440887436noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5102183972939892836.post-45444610705988741662010-12-03T22:17:04.124+06:002010-12-03T22:17:04.124+06:00More, I suspect, than an American tourist...More, I suspect, than an American tourist...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5102183972939892836.post-64984071613119639722010-12-02T09:11:44.345+06:002010-12-02T09:11:44.345+06:00tres tourist. but then, what do the local places ...tres tourist. but then, what do the local places in barca really know about tapas/tapa culture? that kind of eating isn't really a catalonian thing is it? next trip, andalusia. i'll get to the bottom of it.The CFThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05483045584440887436noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5102183972939892836.post-75450409551662242142010-12-01T01:26:00.221+06:002010-12-01T01:26:00.221+06:00Glad you got to know about cortados.
